"Is Dick Cheney emboldening the enemy?"
Fair question.

Answer: Of course, he is!

Is Dick Cheney emboldening the enemy?
David Gewirtz | BIO
Editor-in-Chief, ZATZ Publishing

I am seriously concerned that our former Vice President may have gone off his meds.

During the post-9/11 years of the Bush administration, whenever anyone in the media or the loyal opposition spoke out against the administration’s policies, that person was immediately accused of emboldening the enemy.

The theory was that if Al Qaeda, or the Iraqis, or the Iranians knew that there was some disagreement among Americans, they’d feel safe in attacking us — perhaps even fighting us over here, instead of fighting us over there.

Hiding out in his secret, undisclosed lair for nearly the entire duration, Vice President Cheney ran the country with an iron fist. Our enemies knew that if they attacked us, he’d put on his Darth Vader hat, and hunt them all down single-handedly.

When anyone in America voiced opposition to the Cheney/Bush policies, retribution (or at least accusation) was swift. The opposition voice was accused of emboldening the enemy, and even of possible treasonous activities. Had someone ranted then, like Dick Cheney is whining and complaining about the Obama administration now, Mr. Cheney would have lost his mind.

1. true, but why sink to their level
the way I see it, he was emboldening the enemy for 8 years by ignoring the threat and promoting attacking the wrong country.

2. He's basically announcing that we are vulnerable to
another attack. He knows what he's doing.

5. It's like he's shouting from the roof tops
"Come on down! They've let their guard down. It will be easy for you. Do it for me! I want to be proven right."

How is this not treasonous? Cheney is inviting an attack.

11. It is treason. An attack would vindicate him and you'd never
hear another politician criticize torture again. It will become part of our SOP.

20. Inviting an attack or
helping to plan it? I'm leaning toward the latter. No doubt he's thinking it will take yet another "New Pearl Harbors" to get the people back in line.

6. Yeah, he's committing treason and
doing what he would not tolerate in the last 8 years when he had all the power and none of the brains.

And, the corporatemedia is co-operting like they did with him on the March to Iraq!

12. Agreed, the media is a huge problem. They are
helping him spew his venom. And, IMO, they are responsible for broadcasting our current Obama created 'weakness' to those who wish to attack us.

13. We really should let the corporatemedia
know that we're on to them. They can be held accountable and punished, too.

4. He has lost his mind, anyway..
I'm thinking it happened around the last century in nixon's time? Could have been sooner?

Prez Obama got him good at the WHPC dinner when he said..

“Dick Cheney was supposed to be here but he’s very busy working on his memoirs, tentatively titled, How to Shoot Friends and Interrogate People .”

7. The way Dick has been acting lately, I think he's negotiating on a book deal.
He's such a self-serving ass. I have a hard time believing he gives a shit what the Obama administration does so my bet is he's trying to raise his public profile for a reason.

So he can say, "They should have listened."

10. This seems more like a Trojan Horse column , he gives Cheney way too much credit.
"Hiding out in his secret, undisclosed lair for nearly the entire duration, Vice President Cheney ran the country with an iron fist. Our enemies knew that if they attacked us, he’d put on his Darth Vader hat, and hunt them all down single-handedly."

They attacked us on 9/11 and Cheney took his eye off the ball, he attacked a country which didn't attack us, while simultaneously attacking the American People's freedom and privacy via waging war on the Constitution.

Cheney waged war with all the sure shot competence against the people that attacked us in the same manner in which he hunted farm raised quail.

I also don't believe in trashing "crazy uncles" by associating them with Cheney to be wise or appropriate. Cheney wasn't crazy or eccentric, he was evil, corrupt, fearful, greedy, power hungry, arrogant and a piss poor shot to boot.

16. Cheney has "insiders" and an EZ-Pass to the media
He's not gonna go away anytime soon, and as long as there's a microphone & a camera, he'll be the point-man, out there trashing the new president at every turn.

Our only hope may be for a Lard Diet for the Dickster:evilgrin:

19. I'm sure al Qaida loves it when the GOP are in power. America makes a better villain then. With
Obama at the helm some hearts and minds in the Middle East have already been won back. Obama is a world wide hero and we will see this on his trip to Egypt.

22. Its a toss up between Al Qaeda and Cheney
as to who will be happier the next time thousands of Americans are killed in a terror attack.

Hell I'm sure the bald bastard is hoping for more rampage shootings and natural disasters so he can gloat.
