1. ARE YOU SHITTING ME?
Of course I guess it would depend on whether said prior administration was R or D.

11. But there was a secondary purpose for it. They didn't want Gore to be elected
that is all that the whole impeachment thing was about, ensuring a Repuke got elected after Clinton.

9. I agree, if it was a Democratic administration
because tainting the Democratic brand is always good for the GOP

10. Unlikely, unless it benefitted them politically or financially.
If it would harm them or make trouble for them in getting their agenda passed, they would drop the idea like a hot potato. Republican politics is really nothing more than a front for making sure friends of Republican politicians and the firms they own or work for make a lot of money. The GOP electorate may be concerned about certain values but the politicians who represent them dont care about those at all.

12. If it's an opposition party, it should be obvious that today's Republican party
would use the flimsiest excuse to hound them out of power.

It should also be remembered that Corporations benefit from Republican policies, so as long as the media is Corporate-owned, the Republican party has an ally in their efforts.

Short answer to the OP's question? DUH!

15. Well they kind of did with Clinton after he left office
Remember how they investigated Clinton staffers' supposed vandalism of the White House, using their RW surrogates (along with their mouthpieces in the MSM) to insinuate that the White House had been purposely and criminally vandalized while Ari, et. al pretended to be oh so "above" the situation and refusing to provide any details about what exactly had been done to the WH? According to the GAO, it all turned out to be a big hoax, of course-just like 99.99999999999% of everything they accused, implicated, or investigated Clintons for.

16. Probably not
If it was another Republican one, certainly not.

And if it was a Democratic one, they would ignore all reality and make up a whole set of pretend crimes to go after them on instead.
