1. and to prove this point they cut to the massive demonstrations
where there are no protesters. As bad as media has been, I would have to say that this week was the most pathetic in the history of US journalism.

2. Huh? Which CNN are you watching?
The reporter on the ground is pointing out that they've only seen a dozen (of two thousand, nine hundred) graduates with those stupid crosses on their hats. They just said the President of the school was the guy who issued the invitation.

They're covering this because the President is speaking (and being honored), it IS (like it or not) a hot-button area (the whole abortion/stem cell thing) that is the cause of "objection," and there are a LOT of Catholics--either faitful, "cafeteria," secular, "fallen away," or "lapsed," in the United States of America. To some extent, Catholicism isn't as much an issue of just belief--it's almost like an ethnicity--something that many people grew up with, and came from, even if they're not "with it" today.

Now, the President is up to bat. We'll see what he says. Overall, I think the coverage is great for Obama.

5. The point is a dozen people should not be given the forum
And the CNN field reporter spends her time going over a mortar board and the instructions written on the back, and says "one hundred or so have been printed."

ONE FUCKING HUNDRED! Give me a break.

7. But don't you see? By showing the paltry protests, and by pointing out
that a hundred (out of almost three thousand graduates) of those stupid things were printed, and CNN STILL MANAGED TO SNAG ONE (!!!) what they are reporting is this:

--CNN is being respectful of the difference in views at this venue. They can never be accused of not providing the other view.

--CNN is, while being so respectful, showing anyone who isn't completely obtuse how... pathetic...lame...and TINY these demonstrations are. Pictures are worth thousands of words.

If Obama gives a good speech (I'm guessing he will, he's good at these big venues and goes over well with the crowds) then he'll, in essence, stomp those assholes into the ground and show them to be didactic, unreasonable assholes--with a smile on his face.

The abortion issue remains a big issue, mainly because there's this idea that the "life" lobby is a BIG BEAST. These pictures show it to be a bit more like the Man Behind The Curtain--the Great and Powerful Wizard of Life is really just a wrinkled old man pulling levers.
