The pro-abortion crowd are certifiably mad. When we think of them as murderers there's really no common ground of any kind.

For example, if Obama and company were wandering about stabbing old ladies to death in the parks and taking their purses, what would be a compromise position? Perhaps we might let them take the purses as the old ladies come into the park? Or, maybe we could let them get away with stabbing only half the old ladies.

Just doesn't happen.

At the moment they have all the guns. When that's gone we must be prepared to act swiftly to clear our society of these monsters.

The first part is already insane, but what does the second part mean? How are my guns (provided I had one, that is) going to "get gone"?

wrote an article on the Huffington Post just now calling the speech "weak on womens rights" and criticizing Obama for calling abortion a heart wenching decision for everyone. I wrote that while I am turned off by some of that rhetoric in general because many women have abortions without being personally conflicted about it, that he was framing it for those in the recent gallup poll who identified themselves as "pro-life", but also said that abortion should not be illegal...aka, they would not get an abortion themself, but don't think it should be banned (pro-choice). A lot of the media is ignoring that part of the poll and simply saying that more people are turning pro-life, so I think that Obama did well to bridge the gap in that respect, while saying that in some regard, pro-lifers and pro-choicers will never be able to agree on many aspects of the abortion debate. A lot of people in the audience would have tuned out unless he tried to bridge the gap in some way. Anyway, a lot of posts were like that, but someone posted that the "Obamabots who do nothing but trust the president were in full force" in the reply comments. That's really not true, most people wrote out long responses about how a speech with harsher rhetoric would not have done service to the pro-abortion rights movement. Anyway, maybe some people on DU will find fault in the speech, but I thought he did well.
