MY question: how is it Cheney was cowering in a bunker, while Bush was reading My Pet Goat?

I am probably late to the party here, and someone may have already mentioned these troubling points, but when Cheney's Torture Television Tour occurred a week or so ago, he admitted to cowering in a bunker on 9/11.

This raises, in my mind, several troubling thoughts:

1. He was either ALREADY IN the bunker when the attacks started, or was located close to the bunker. But the president was not.
2. The secret service saw fit to protect the vice president in a bunker, but left the president out in the open for over four hours in a known location open to the public.
3. NEITHER the president nor the vice president make any calming public response to the nation for quite some time. BUT they were quick to locate themselves in a protective bunker (or at least Cheney was).
4. Cheney thinks admitting his own actions, of cowering in a bunker in a time of national crisis, is proof of why we are safer under his protection (WTF?).


Let me put this another way: this is what Cheney is saying: As your leader I saw fit to save my own skin and did nothing to help you at all. And I use that act of cowardice as justification to brutally torture others. This is why you should vote republican.

1. If he was in the WH, there's a "bunker" under the grounds.

It's a sub-sub-sub basement thing. The minute there's a threat the SS hustles them out of the way and into that facility. As I remember, there was a false alarm during the 'terraterraterra' days and they made poor Laura in her PJs and Bozo get out of the bed in the dead of night and go down to the sub-basement.

There's now a bunker at the Naval Observatory, where the Veep lives, which is no big secret since the fucking blasting kept everyone awake (and scared shitless, until they finally told everyone that they were doing a bit of "demolition" in the area) while they were building it. There wasn't one at the time of Nahn Wun Wun, though--that place used to be the CNO's house, and it got stolen for use by the VP (rather than building a new house, which would have made more sense).

11. In the darkest matters, Cheney was in the loop, was the acting president.

Cheney was part of the Air Forces Stand Down order on that day. (If you believe that sort of thing, and I do).

Bush didn't know shit, didn't want to know, probably wasn't meant to know all that was going on.

Cheney ran it all. Its obvious now.

13. Rummy's actions on 9/11

was pretty remarkable.

He was in the Pentagon and went out on the grass and helped rescue people.

That evening he told Congress you better pass our increasing military budget PRONTO. And also got Congress to completely forget about the 3 trillion or so dollars the Pentagon simply "lost".

We never heard of that missing loot ever again!

He was either oblivious to the plot or knew damn well the "plane" would not hit his part of the building. I wonder if the section they did hit had a lot of Rummy critic's in it?

14. Cheney was running the war exercises that day

Bush was "staying out of harms way" that day by zig zagging all over the country in Airforce 1.

Let me repeat the first sentence. Cheney was running the war exercises that day. Like, I assume, all Vice-Presidents do? Because they know all about the military?

15. Gee, another 9-11 coincidence!

One of my favorites is that Osama's half brother and cousin Salem was a former investor, via the above reproach James Bath, in the always failing George W. Bush's Arbusto Energy, back in the 70's and early 80's.

Can you imagine what the reaction would have been if the Bin Laden family had been business associates of Bill and Hillary Clinton?

Salem died in a purely accidental small plane crash in 1988.
