Cheney is attacking Obama because he's already hated as much as he can be ... |
|
Cheney is attacking Obama because the other GOP members can't be seen doing that. Obama is too popular.
And that makes it hard for the GOP to get their negative messages OUT ....
So Cheney ... who is hated as much as he ever could be ... goes out and drops the turd for them.
The press eats it up ... and most of the GOP can stand back and avoid any fall-out.

2. They can't avoid fallout when they're asked "What do you think of Cheney?" |

I can't see Cheney as a voluntary sacrificial lamb. He's too much of a self-centered snake in the grass for me to believe he would do such a thing for his party. The only reason he's doing what he's doing is that he thinks it will help him avoid prosecution for his war crimes.

3. He is trying to sway public opinion just in case someone |

charges and tries him for his crimes. Bill O'Reilley will carry his water and Rush Limbaugh will wipe up. Hannity and his cohorts will follow suit hoping to poison any likely jury pool with the horrible rationalizations for torturing SUSPECTS.
