3. I was just about to ask this.
However, I think Center left is supposed to fit the mold between extreme and a closer to center.

5. What are you using to define the different groups?
Could a person think they're Far Left when their views are fairly Centrist, or vice versa?

7. O C'mon, I'm Tired
Suffice it to say, I'll leave it up to the individual to decide on their own criteria.

15. Okay.
When I think of "Far Left", I think of Che, Mao, Ghandi, MLK Jr. ... people willing to take direct action that will likely result in their death, or the murder of others, to further push their ideology.

I'm a bit "death adverse", so I think I'm a tad more centrist, but I can imagine a great number of people who hold certain ideas sacred, but wouldn't kill or be murdered for those ideas, so philosophically-wise, they're far left, but action-wise, they're centrist, if that makes any sense.

10. I suppose the fact that I don't care about gun control makes me merely "left".
That and the fact that I would be willing to live with mere "effective regulation" of Wall St (and by "effective" I mean, prosecution of anyone who authorizes bonuses when the companies lose money/need a bailout... investigations and possible prosecutions for executives whenever there is suspicion that irresponsible behavior on their part has lost shareholder's money, and mandatory fines for all contemporaneous executives whenever the corporation is fined by regulatory agencies)... and the fact that I could live with a "public option" in health care overhaul in place of single payer...

I'd be willing to settle for a moratorium on dismissals under DADT until Congress has time to address the issue. I'd be willing to settle for letting Churches decide whether or not to marry gay couples, but to require all "civil unions" registered with the government to provide full and equal rights to any couple... as long as the government cease recognizing "marriages" performed in any church... and instead require that ALL couple be registered with the government if they want those rights (and pay the same fee). Let the church have the word marriage... but take legal rights away from the churches with regard to "partnerships", and take all "married" language out of every single facet of government law/form/everything else. Everyone will be "domestic partners" from now on.

I'd be willing to give the President more slack with regards to wars that still need to be addressed... if the tax rate on all contractors were raised by 15%, to help pay for the profits that they are receiving. Let's make that a straight 20% off the top from the corporations, 10% off the top of salaries of all executives making over $500k/year who don't work at least 50% of the year in the war zones, and an extra 5% on all contractors making more than $150k.

From the sounds of things... these positions make merely "left", as opposed to those who would like to completely destroy the underlying corporate structure of our country & its economy.

Right?

18. This is hard because I am very left on some issues and centrist on others
But in my heart I am a true blue liberal, just plain old left. I dislike conservadems and centrists as they constantly look to take the easy way out, I like leftist ideals. I am not totally sold on single payer but I do want health care reform, I am so so on gun rights, abortion totally needs to be legal, gay marriage needs to be legal, torturers need to be prosecuted, I am not totally keen on nationalizing the banks, I want immigration reform and let some people stay here. I was for the stimulus. I want us out of Iraq and not too happy about Afganistan but I do get that Pakistan needs our presence there. I am kind of all over the place really. LOL. I am not inflexible and can change my mind. I guess that makes me a bit different then some.
