5. Clearly a liberal
not a nut job on the level of Scalia, but I don't want a liberal Scalia.

7. Don't particularly know her, but have no problem with it -
she is, apparently, a centrist. Over time on the court, conservatives (other than ideologues like Renquist, Thomas, Scalia et al) tend toward moderation, becoming centrists. Centrists, if they change, tend to change toward liberal. I can't recall any liberal becoming a conservative. IOW, the legal system itself, based on the constitution, leans toward the left in the long run. After all, democracy is a liberal creation; equal rights is a liberal concept - both are enshrined in the constitution.

When the appointee is centrist to liberal, we all benefit.

9. I voted my name
Love the fact that she's from NY too. I'm from Brooklyn but I guess Bronx is acceptable in this case.

12. A little too much of a centrist for me.
I was hoping for a more liberal appointment, but I can hope that the first court nominee will be the moderate, and any successive ones will be more liberal.

13. How 'bout a "Too Early Tell " choice?....
She seems good enough. You got to remember we've got to counter balance Scalia, Alito, Thomas and Roberts.

She may be an excellent choice, but I think it's a big wash, we get another Souter, and that's not totally terrible thing.

14. And I think she's single. Anyone know if she's seeing anyone?
I could use an intellectually stimulating woman with a great medical plan. Maybe I could be the first Polish-American husband of the first Hispanic Supreme Court judge.
