That said, at some point, you have to start thinking that his unwillingness to fight on certain issues isn't a sign that he wants to avoid confrontation, but that he simply has a different set of priorities (e.g., DADT, single-payer, etc.). Nonetheless, he really deserves a huge amount of credit here because the wingnuts, and their enablers in the media, are going to have one giant hissy fit on this nomination.
