O.K., President Obama Is Coming To Green Bay. How Can I Make Arrangements For My Student |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-01-09 08:23 PM by Dinger
to meet the President? The one who did the speech in my wax museum project? He hasn't heard from the White House yet, but I think he will. Here is his picture, and some links to help explain this better. Link to announcement about Obama coming to Green Bay: http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/46664087.htmlMy earlier thread about this project: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=8367770

1. I'm thinking prayer is the only thing that will help you at this point... |

.... what is the venue? Is it a town hall? .... If it is, get there early, get a good seat .... and tell the kid to raise his hand like he's never raised it before. You may not get to meet him, but you can at least get him to answer a question perhaps.
Get the kid to say "Mr. President, what's up with the torture photos? All my teacher's friends want to know!" :)
... no, seriously, get him to ask a question pertaining to education issues .... or what he should study as he's growing up. .... that'll give Barack a chance to talk about how cool and important science is, he likes doing that.

There are the steps I've taken (so far):
1. Cleared it with this child and his mother. 2. Cleared it with my principal. 3. Called the White House 4. Called my congressman (Kagen) 5. Called my local Democratic Party chair.
I'll do whatever else it takes. It is not about me; it's about my student. I want this for him (& his mom) so bad. ***Crossing my fingers***

And I love, love, love that one side of his clip on tie is out. It just made me cry. He is so sweet. Reminded me of wearing clip ons as a child. He is going to do something very good with his life...
