On Obama's family joining him in Paris for a little vacay before Normandy ceremony.

"A vacation after only 5 months on the job? Must be nice."

How many did Bush have? Wasn't he just about to start his month off if I recall?

20. Bush only ever took one vacation.
It began back in his Air Guard days, and by now has probably set some sort of record.

2. I think I get to take vacation time after 6 months.
I think that's fairly standard for most jobs, but that's just to get some people vested before they can take paid leave.

Obama is stuck in this job for four years, so we can probably let that slide.

3. But Bush was a Republican
Republicans can do whatever they want. Only Democrats are held to standards. That's their mindset.

7. Is it really a vacation if he isn't clearing brush?
* was on a permanent vacation from day 1. Yesterday it was revealed that he and rove were reading books for the last year in office. Two a week! I read alot during summer breaks from school, and I have to wonder if he was making up for lost time and wasted education. He didn't have a clue when he took office, then turned his back on his resposnsibility, and spent his damn time relaxing with some books.

18. Oh, come on!
You don't actually believe * was actually on a reading binge do you? (2 books a week?)

These attempts at creating a different perception of dumbya would just be pathetic if they weren't so effin' laughable.

commemorate the 65th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion.

Even on this "vacation" President Obama is still working to repair America's image in the world.

How many people's "vacations" include that?

Freeper fail.

9. Interesting comparrison between Bushies & Clinton time off.
Anyway, according to the Washington Post, as for August 2003 (with a year and a half remaining in his first term), the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, had been on vacation 250 days, approximately 27% of the time. That means every year he’s taken on average three months of vacation.

Prior to September 11, 2001, George W. Bush was on vacation for 96 days -- Given that he’d taken office on January 20th of 2001, that means that as of September 11th, he’d been ‘on the job’ for 234 days. If 96 of those were vacation days, he was on vacation 41% of the time.

However, compared to his father, George H. Bush, who was President for a single 4-year term, and took 543 (Five-hundred-fourty-three days of vacation!! That’s a year and a half!) W. is a workaholic!

As for December 1999, Bill Clinton had spent 152 days on holiday during his two terms -- As a percentage, that’s approximately 5.2% of the time.

I haven't found how many days W took off during his first 4 1/2 months, but it seems both bushies like their time OFF!

...Mr. Obama only staying for a day, while his wife, daughters and MIL stay on. Not exactly a "vacation".

14. They can't have it both ways ...
Either G.W. Bush was on vacation more than any sitting President before him, or it doesn't count as a vacation if you're working, surrounded by staff, holding meetings, etc. Which, as I recall, was the official response to the oft-mentioned frequent-est vacationer criticism.

Make no mistake my FReeper friends, Obama was working. Diligently. Tirelessly. I really wish you guys from the FRight could give it a rest, already.
