This guy is very impressive. I must admit, I don't know all that much about him, but the more I hear him speak the more impressed I become. Whitehouse for president, 2016, is starting to have a nice ring to it!

5. The crying shame is the embarrassment of riches from RI.

He was the guy who knocked out Linc Chaffee, who left the GOP since his defeat and is now an independent (this is a big deal, since it is a family tradition with him). Linc was the lone decent voice in the GOP, who would buck the party and not go along, and he had a conscience. He was more to the left than some members of the Democratic delegation.

Of course, Whitehouse is just incredible. What an amazing mind. I too, am tremendously impressed with him. He's smart, no nonsense, and he gets it on the first take.

9. As far as I've heard, he's the lone voice doing anything about investigating torture.

If there are ever any investigations of what Bush, Cheney, et. al. did... it will be because of Sheldon Whitehouse. Period. (Though rumors that Pelosi has pulled the Graham-Lieberman amendment out of the House bill might eventually earn her an honorable mention from me.)

He's got my vote for anything national that I can vote for him for...
