Nader Ordered Off Ballot by Judge (Arkansas)
Link: http://www.katv.com/news/stories/0904/174326.html

"Little Rock (AP) - The state's Democratic and Republican parties are responding to a ruling Monday that presidential candidate Ralph Nader (website/newsbio) be removed from the Arkansas ballot."

SNIP
"Last month, Democrats cried foul after finding signatures of at least 26 Republican politicians, party staff or their spouses on petitions to put Nader on the November ballot.

Judges in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Virginia have ordered Nader off the ballot, and in Missouri he did not gather enough signatures to be put on the ballot."

3. I don't think it really matters
Arkansas seems to be rather safe for Bush regardless of whether Nader is on the ballot or not. However the news about Pennsylvania is already outdated. State Supreme Court there reversed lower court decision and ordered it to start reviewing Nader's petition. That doesn't mean that he will be on the ballot but he still has a chance.

4. Have you seen the polls lately in Arkansas? It's a dead heat.

I'd say Kerry has a better chance here than you think.

5. where in the world are YOU from?
In Arkansas, it is very close. Kerry will win 3 of 4 Congressional districts here while losing overwhelmingly in one.

It will be close here.

8. People mistakenly assume Arkansas will go Bush because
its a Southern State. Bush and Kerry have been within the margin of error of eachother in Arkansas for months. Sometimes I think some of the DNC and Kerry folks in the Northeast don't exactly get that.

9. the thing about Arkansas is ...
for statewide Democratic politicians (of which there are many), they will just about always win the Congressional district in the center of the state comfortably, the district to the east overwhelmingly, and the one in the northeast comfortably, in the NW part of the state, a bastion of gops, the gop wins very big ... 60% +. So the task for the Democrat is to make their margins in the other districts large enough to overcome the gop margin in the NW.

Bill Clinton did it for a long, long time. So did Dale Bumpers and David Pryor. Our two Democratic Senators ...
Lincoln and Mark Pryor, put it together nicely. The 3 Democratic districts, of course, have Democratic representatives. The one in the NE is, of course, a gop.

6. It has been a consistent 1 to 2 percentage race for months here now.
At one point, it was tied, and at one point, Kerry was actually ahead by 1.

Arkansas is definitely winnable for Kerry.

10. I'm not one that wants Nader blocked from the ballot
I just wish he wasn't so selfish and dropped out of his own volition.
