Didn't the liberal punditry say the same crap as Maher during the campaign? |

Obama needs to take the gloves off, he's too worried about being liked, if he doesn't get tougher he's going to lose. blah, blah, blah

1. Bill Maher says things to shock |
|
(surprise, he's a comedian), but I think his point is well taken.

2. This isn't the campaign |
|
This is real and he's now in the drivers seat, which means it's time for him to honor what he said during the campaign. If he can't back up his words with action then what makes him better then the last guy who claimed to be a "uniter not a divider"?
The campaign is over, it's time to shit or get off the pot.

3. Good point. The political landscape is pretty much littered with the corpses |
|
of those who underestimated how "tough" Obama was.
Hillary Clinton
John McCain.
They never learn.

4. Bill forgets that GWB... |

had a Republican Congress that backed him 100% Obama does not have it the same way with Dems. It would be so much easier if he did. The pressure needs to be put on the congress.

6. It has nothing to do with being liked. The guy is out there pushing a public option |

WTF are you talking about? He isn't backing away from it.
Obama has a weak Senate leader. And party that doesn't walk in lockstep like the Republicans. Thats the problem. He can't be like Bush. Laurence O'Donnell explained this earlier on MSNBC
