10. No, the first story was about the incredible mess in Iraq... |
|
Another American was beheaded today.
The adjoining second story was about Kerry's speech. The graphics at the beginning of the story were awesome: A picture of the coWard-in-chief was shown on one side of the screen & a picture Kerry on the other, with a burning American flag in between them. Highlights of Kerry's speech were shown.
This administration's knee-jerk decision to attack Iraq has created quite a mess for our country. That's the big story.

14. Sounds like the topic is focusing back on Iraq |
|
where it should be. When the usual suspects plus McCain, Lugar, Lindsey Graham, and Hagel are telling you what a mess it is, it is not to be ignored.
That being said, someone pleeeaase throw us a summary, however brief B-)

16. Hi, no, unfortunately...it was in pretty poor shape, runout engines, most |
|
of the avionics not working, interior badly worn & ugly. Would have taken about 30K just to get it in shape. It kinda broke my heart.
I didn't even bother to do a thorough inspection, it hadn't been annualed since 97. :-( My first flight instructor, from 1962 went with me, he just retired from UAL. We're thinking about going in together on something similar or maybe a BE-55 or maybe a 401 if we can find a nice one. I guess they're all getting old, like us. ;-)

Don't sell yourself short, the old ones are the best ones. I remember having a friend who restored an old L-5. He used to keep it hangared out at the North Tulsa airport (Vo-Tech) She was a beauty.
It's a shame about the plane, though. Sounds like it was in rough shape. Hope you guys find a winner. When you do, you should post a couple of pictures.

...it was embarrassing to see Dan Rather have to apologize for a story - it leaves the impression in people's minds that Bush DID serve honorably, and we all know, as most people should, that he DIDN'T. The fact that Burkett lied to protect someone else (who?) doesn't change the fact that George Bush shirked his duty and hid behind the TANG, then went AWOL - he couldn't even do THAT with integrity. But apparently Rather had to cave in to pressure from above. It was bad.
Anyway, they interviewed Burkett, and he is adamant that the documents are still authentic. But he won't reveal his source (someone mentioned that it was Robin Rather, but I'd think Rather would've known that, Burkett set his jaw and wouldn't say, so that argues against it being her, I would think). He wasn't even really contrite about lying about it. He was pretty convincing that HE was convinced.
At the end, McClellan got on there and had the nerve to say that the apology was accepted, but that further investigation is necessary.
Jesus. And John Kerry went an entire month without any such vigor on anyone's part to restore his good name. This infuriates me, this double standard. I can't stand it.

19. Yes, I don't care much about the story (I know it's true), but the mystery |

of Burkett is intriguing to me.

20. I wonder if it's his pal who's overseas... |
|
Remember? Burkett used to say that he saw Bush's records being destroyed, and this other guy had seen it also. I forget his name. And the other guy is working in Europe, and when they asked him about it he wouldn't vouch for the incident but he expressed his trust and belief in the word of Bill Burkett.
