1. My economic situation is worse BUT |
|
it isn't Obama's fault and there isn't anything he could have done in the time he has had to change what took years of incompetence from the Whitehouse, Wall Street and auto company boardrooms.

2. i don't mean to see if you think obama is to blame for your lot |
|
it's more of a look to see how people's personal economic situation has affected their views on Obama's performance.

voted that I thought he's doing a good job. I was just pointing out what should be obvious, that not enough time has passed to know if policies put in place will have a positive impact on the economy.
Some, even among progressives and liberals, don't seem to get that!
I like this poll, even though it should win an award for wordiest poll ever posted on DU!

3. Financially I am in the tank |
|
but it had already started before Obama took office and I certainly am not so stupid as to blame him. Everything considered I think Obama is doing great. He inherited a depression. I am in pretty bad shape financially but with Obama as president I at least have some hope. If McCain had been elected I would likely be on drugs by now.

...as our finances have tanked also, but I'm not too stupid to understand that what we're experiencing now is a result of eight ruinous years, and not the result of any perceived lack of progress in six months of Obama's presidency. If Obama fixes in four years what it took der monkey eight to ruin, then I'll be satisfied beyond measure, and if I feel he needs and deserves another four, I'll vote for him again. I just don't see how nipping at his heels constantly while he's trying to do just that helps the situation. If Obama can fix the economy, or at least get it moving in a postitive direction again, provide an option for decent affordable health care, and keep us from blowing each other up along with the planet, there's a pretty damn good chance that the other things that are important to us as a nation, individually, or as a minority will come with more acceptance, less anger, and not nearly as much pain. A couple in our position, and we're not spring chickens anymore, are among those that cannot really afford to show much patience, but we will. It's what simple logic tells us. Thanks. quickesst

is dire but it isn't Obama's fault. It started last June when fuckhead was still in office.

7. today my family member's business closed doors |
|
A coffeehouse, thriving for ten years. Several months ago, business dropped significantly. Unemployment in the state hit 12 percent about the same time. Today, seven employees are out of work. The owner has 60,000 in debt and no income. He also has two small children.
And today I got a final notice. The house my family rents is being foreclosed because the owner hasn't paid her mortgage since last September. She pocketed all that money. The home is being sold on the courthouse steps, displacing me and my family.
I would say that while Obama inherited a depression, he has been played for a fool (at best -- I don't want to think about the worst possibility) by the bankers and will always be responsible for the tragedies that are being played out in American families today and tomorrow and for a lot of years.
"We didn't know the economy was so bad" is an insult to all Americans. It's infuriating. INFURIATING.
