Assmussen Daily Tracking Poll 52% Approve, 46% Disapprove
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 28% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-five percent (35%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –7 (see trends).

Check out our review of last week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.”

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.

Overall, 52% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Forty-six percent (46%) disapprove. For other barometers of the President’s performance, see Obama By the Numbers or review recent demographic highlights from the tracking polls.

Public opposition to immigration reform remains high. There is a huge gap on the issue between the views of most voters and the Political Class.

Fifty-six percent (56%) favor regulation of campaign contributions, but disclosure is seen as far more important. Forty percent (40%) say it takes $10,000 or less to influence a Member of Congress.

1. So?
And I'm going to say the same thing ("so") every time there is a thread about a Rasmussen poll.

3. Obama's approval will be sub 50% for a time.
That's an inevitable consequence of 10% unemployment.

Reagan lived under 50% for more than a year before his massive reelection.

Presidents are given four year terms so they can work through times like these.

Rasmussen is showing the same trend that is evident throughout other polls.

4. If it's the "Assmussen" poll as you call it, why do you post it every day?

8. It is between 5-7% points below consensus
But it is indicative of a trend. The President had a bad polling week, but it going to rebound. Especially after Sotomayor is confirmed.

7. Rasmussen's methodology has been at issue on DU for years. Why are..
they still allowed, and why post questionable polling data?

10. Just like the new rec system
DU is obsessed with polls.

I think the poll on Nov. 4, 2008 worked out just fine, and if we, and our elected officials, work just as hard in 2010 and 2012, I think things will work out just fine.

12. 35% - 23% = 12% strong disapproval among thinking Americans.
Edited on Sun Jul-12-09 03:33 PM by sofa king
The 23% being the right-wing authoritarians who are told what to think by an insignificant percentage of social misfits and self-interested pursuers of power.

The other 12% are probably the ones facing a tax hike.
