Pat Buchanan on Sotomayor...Unbelievable. I wish MSNBC would get rid of this stupid bigot.

2. I'm done with MSNBC. It's one thing to have a controversial opinion,
and quite another to be fucking bigot.

I'm boycotting MSNBC with one "occasional" exception -- Ed's show -- I'm usually at work when it's on so I can't watch it every day anyway. I'll miss Keith and Rachel, sort of, but I don't care. I refuse to continue to watch a network that sees fit to put a bigot front and center on a regular basis.

Why the fuck did they fire Imus anyway? He wasn't any worse than Pat. In fact, Pat is worse by a long shot because he continually makes racist remarks and then defends them by yelling at anyone who dares question him.

Go fuck yourself MSNBC.

to produce one. As soon as I get one from him, I won't be watching MSNBC again.

Can't stand Tweety! :puke::puke:

I sent them an email letting them know that I'm not switching back until I hear that 'Uncle' Pat is gone (I really can't believe that RM loves him so much... )

34. Buchanan is worse, but he avoids such vulgar epithets as "nappy-headed ho's."
Buchanan couches his racism in more literate language. The distinction is a stupid one but only the most simplistic rationales seem to work on the mass level.

17. That wasn't just about Sotomayor...
That was about minorities in general through the outlet of Sotomayor. I've seen when he's just been about her. This was about all minorities.

7. I just read this article from media matters about him.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x6085947

I knew he was a right wing hate monger but I had no idea that it was to that extent; WTF is MSNBC thinking? Don't tell me Chris Mathews didn't already know all of this and more about Buchanan.

right, but those Good Ol' Boys are still Kings in the South and Rush listeners can be found all across America even if the GOP can't win their States.

Those 'boys' are now just pissing in the wind though and they know it. That's why this kind of talk is frightening because they're like a cornered animal. Dr. Tiller was already a victim of their rage, who's next? Sotomayor? the President?

Chris Matthews should be ashamed of himself!

8. He needs to be there
where everyone can see him, and where Rachel and Keith and the non-msnbc shows can call him out. It's so interesting to see him lose his wry patrician attitude and expose the underbelly. It's happening all over the place, and it needs to happen, especially on places like MSNBC where younger people can be horrified and marginalize him. And, of course, the more marginal, the madder he and the rest of them are going to get.

10. I agree; it puts lie to the notion that we are a post-racial society just because
Obama managed to get elected.

Shine a light on him and the asshats who patronized Judge Sotomayor. Don't put them out of sight and let others argue "WHAT race problems?"

15. I really think the Buchanans of America ARE losing it.
They've lost the America they once knew and LOVED( the 50's era/ whites rule). Things ARE changing and they are not dealing with it well. To see Buchanan on TV saying the things he does is just outrageous!

It fuels the hatred and anger. Media has a responsibility NOT to incite violence and I am afraid Buchanans words on air are goign to do just that, incite violence.

We've already seen the assasination of Dr. Tiller because of the vicious unrelenting attacks from Orielly and co. and because a liberal Democrat was elected President, a BLACK liberal Democrat.

I think a serious discussion needs to be had on why Buchanan is WRONG and until that happens I consider the media that has Buchanan and the like on air complicit in perpetuating racism and violence.

37. I agree. People like him need to be exposed so we can get past this "post racial America" lie.
Until people stop sweeping racism under the rug and pretending like its not a big deal anymore, its going to continue. Although some people like to call it "keeping racism alive."

38. Pat doesn't have dementia
He has never been questioned on his analysis or opinions. He has only gained his fame as a speech writer for Nixon and ran for president of US, he has been touted as fully knowledgeable on the political front and DC. He along with his sister Babe have acquired their wealth, status because the right-wing have touted them as all knowing and seeing. They haven't a clue as to what real America is and are simply profiteers. Rachel has the audacity to call him out and he can't handle it. This isn't dementia, it's simply showing what a complete ignorant fool Pat is. Pat isn't even capable of hiding his bigoted, racial self. That is real stupidity.....aging, only magnifies ones basic personalities. Pat is finally showing his true self and it isn't pretty.
