Progressive Groups, Supporters, Go After Baucus In New Ad Buy
Progressive groups are launching a new round of advertising against Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, (D-Mont.), in an effort to persuade him to support a public option.

The Montana Democrat was the (unfortunate) winner of a contest sponsored by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy for America, in which the groups allowed members to choose which senator to target in an ad campaign. Baucus has, at times, indicated he supports a government run plan but it is not certain if the proposal will make it into the final version of his committee's bill.

For this, 15,000 progressive voters determined that he should get an additional bit of political pressure. The ads being run against the senator, which will air in three media markets in Montana -- Billings, Butte-Bozeman, and Helena - are duplicates of an old PCCC spot. Only it is customized for Baucus, pointing to the $3.9 million he has taken from "health and insurance interests."

1. Save your money to get rid of him altogether later. You won't outbid the ins. co.s
He's going to do what he's already been paid to do. And the legislation you would be pressuring him to support, if you were to spend your lobbying money now, is probably worse than the currently existing situation and will have the effect of freezing America's extortionate insurance system in its current form.

Just get rid of him. Make an example of him. And start over when we have real Democrats in office.

4. The ad completely unimpressive
I have no idea why DFA joined with this lame effort and is rising money for. It will be why I won't give DFA a cent.

On teh huffinton Post,go to the link and see the video. It essentially says "Public option" then has some text in favor of it - with a background that I think ultimately is suppose to be names. It then lists the amount of money that various people got from the insurance/drug industry. (Forget that legitimate donations from people are included in those totals aggregated over the industry their employer is in.)

This would be a good web post to argue for a primary opponent. But, to change their minds on a public option?? This does not create a groundswell of support for a public option, nor does it get people to call the Senators. The intent is to say the Senator is compromized. So, do you think people will call and say - "I know you are bought by the insurors, but could you please vote for the public option? In fact, it might deter some calls as people think it's not worth the effort.
