The continued Swift Boat Liar's attacks are a good thing
Kerry is now pissed off and fighting and I suspect the continued attacks on his Vietnam years will ensure that he stays that way through Nov 2nd. In addition if the GOP wants to keep focussing on 1972 then they are playing with fire - and everything is on the table.

1. Yeah, I suspect it'll just piss him off and he won't even have to comment
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 09:39 PM by Mr_Spock
on this crap anymore because many in the media are pissed (Lou Dobbs tonight) that that story (SBV) that was all lies stayed in the spotlight as long as it did. The reporters on his show thought it made them look bad - and of course they were right!

it also helps to diffuse all the lies that will be told about the CBS memos and disgraceful attempts to link it to the Dems . I think people have a 'turn off' point with this mud slinging that has no substance

4. Yes, SBV is done, perhaps Tweety or some loser will feature it
But they don't really speak to anyone that matters anyway.

5. Yep, their fifteen minutes are up
They aren't relevant anymore. I can't believe they're even still at it. I thought they'd finish ages ago. This is the first I've even heard that they're still going.

I'm over at their forum at the moment, stealth mode, correcting a misconception about Kerry and his pro-life stance. I expect to be booted pretty quick. God forbid anyone should speak actual truth.

It's alot like Freeperland over there. With some religious right stuff thrown in too.

7. Oh greaaat, the Ted Sampley school of thinking, eh?
Soon they'll be saying that McCain is the Manchurian Candidate because he's both a POW and Kerry's friend.

Oye. BTW, I'm getting crucified over in swiftboatvet land.

I wonder if I should post a link to an article about Roy Hoffman, attrocities poster child, and his connection to the Bob Kerrey incident, as my swan song.

Either that or the article I found by Ted Sampley that said George Bush Sr. didn't deserve his medals either. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

12. And if THIS line of reasoning is considered credible
Then I suppose we'll have to take this article seriously too.

http://www.usvetdsp.com/story46.htm

What were the words George Bush Sr. used? The allegations appear compelling? Hmmm?

Below the belt I know, but damn it, I'm in a fighting mood too.

New Ad Says Kerry Met Secretly (with the "enemy" in Vietnam)

From Wednesday's Washington Post. No link yet. Absolutely disgusting.

New Ad Says Kerry Met Secretly
By Paul Farhi
The Washington Post

WASHINGTON — The veterans organization that sparked controversy last month when it questioned John Kerry’s military service in Vietnam plans to launch a new commercial Wednesday that equates Kerry with Vietnam War protester Jane Fonda and accuses the Democratic presidential nominee of secretly meeting with “enemy leaders” during the conflict.

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth said it will spend $1.3 million to air its advertisement in five battleground states and on national cable television networks over the next week. The ad, titled “Friends,” makes no assertion of any direct link between Kerry and Fonda, but it suggests that their contacts with North Vietnamese leaders during the war were equally dishonorable

9. John himself may have to comment
And right away, unlike the last round.

Personally, at this point, I don't care if he kissed Ho Chi Mihn on the lips. I wanna get back to the issues, gawdamnit!

Oye shit.

What a bunch of assholes! I don't see how the Swift Boat Liars can live with themselves not only doing this to a fellow human being, but one of their own.

15. No..They need to be sued for TRAUMA..Kids don't vote and
while watching 7th Heaven or some tame show...a 7 year old hears about heads and ears being cut off and then has nightmares..Then asks did Daddy do that? Then the vet has flashbacks. ITs more than taking a candidate down..ITs affecting children's mental health and the family. Children don't watch congressional hearings from 35 years ago or even now. The ads have no warning of graphic material...Nope. They should be sued !

16. Well I don't think you can sue for trauma induced by a commercial
But I think they ought to make an exception for that bunch.

17. I wonder.....Warning on labels..No warning on graphics..
I think you can sue. In fact why did they take cigarette commercials off? Dangerous to your health. Mental health is real and so is PTSD and this is calculating and deliberate........

14. In about five years . . .
. . . I wonder how they're going to be able to look their grandchildren, and their fellow vets, in the eyes. I wonder how they'll get the words out about their role in this terrible thing that has been created. I wonder how they'll be able to face themselves.

I wonder how many of them won't feel totally, absolutely and completely worthless.
