Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 11:11 AM by jenmito
"Welcome everyone-I know there are a lot of Republicans here who were bused in to shout and disrupt this town hall with anti-healthcare talking points, so when you start doing what you were told to do, I want the rest of you to shout, 'Not this time!' So let's begin."

Then when the disruptors DO start their BS, maybe the opening statement will get covered as well as the disruptors, showing their MO has been discovered and called out, and the disruptors will look like fools.

6. Also
I think the disrupters should be hauled out. Not arrested as they were in the health care hearings in D.C., just physically removed and made an example of.

Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 11:47 AM by jenmito
And part of what they said sounded exactly what I suggested in my OP! :D But they had many additional actions taken to minimize those crazy RWers.

12. Great
I've been looking for ideas on how to respond. I don't want to respond with anger (which is what I feel when I hear their shit), but am having a hard time.
Any more ideas?

"Tea Baggers FAIL to disrupt Health Care meeting, lessons shared."

by Don Briggs

Share this on Twitter - Tea Baggers FAIL to disrupt Health Care meeting, lessons shared. Mon Aug 03, 2009 at 10:50:13 PM PDT
The Democratic Alliance of Northwest Indiana (DANI ) hosted a meeting with Rep. Pete Visclosky (D, IN-01), on Monday, Aug. 3, 6:30 PM. We invited the public and their written questions. It seems good to share with the Daily Kos readership some lessons we learned.

Bottom line:
• We had an orderly and productive meeting.
• No one stood up, shouted out and sat down.
• At no point was our Congressman or audience rattled.
• DANI accomplished its objective. We provided the public an opportunity to question our Congressman about Health Care and Clean Energy.
• Tea Baggers came out in force, but they failed to disrupt the meeting.
• Local reporters attended.

Lessons learned follow below the fold.

18. Thanks, I just rec'd and answered
it in GD. This is a very well prepared and successful way to have a Town Hall Meeting on Health Care Reform and should be seen by anyone who is having one or going to one.

The disruptors will not win.

and frustrating ..not to be having anything done on our side except getting shouted DOWN. Now we're back and in business!

23. It sure is. I was also glad to see
several people in the media talking about the article posted here a few days ago about the instructions sent out to disrupt the town halls. I sent that article to all the anchors at MSNBC and a couple at CNN.

26. My pleasure...
I "tweeted" to the anchors to PLEASE get the story out and I gave the link to that article. When I saw Tamron Hall and David Shuster talking about it I couldn't help but think maybe they read my tweets to them (Shuster replied to 3 of my tweets personally)!

Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 01:23 PM by jenmito
Gibbs said it IS manufactured and went on to give an example of a memo sent out of a conservative group BRAGGING about doing just that. Then Jake went on to ask something like, "How is that any different from liberal groups protesting..." and Gibbs repeated how organized, choreographed, and manufactured the RW "anger" at these town halls is and how the LEADER of the group "Conservatives for Patients' Rights" was fined for fraud!
