Where should we concentrate?
We have 6 more weeks.

At this point I'm wondering whether any effort should be made to convert minds, and instead all efforts should be directed at getting out the vote, organizing trasportation to the polls, etc.

Is it worth trying to convert?

Where are our efforts put to best use?

3. In terms of states, I would say Florida, Ohio, WI, and Penn. for sure..
These are true battleground states with my gut telling me (since I am from Wisconsin) that Kerry will probably win here.

Florida should go Kerry, but we all know what happened in '00.

Ohio is a true toss up. I'd like to say Kerry, but who knows what Ohio voters are thinking. The good news for Kerry is that Ohio's economy is not going well.

Penn. should be for Kerry as well. Polls are shifting more toward Kerry but again, it may be tight.

6. It's worth trying to change minds,
but I have a very poor technique. I don't suffer fools gladly, and I think Bush supporters are fools. So, I'm cross with them, which doesn't make friends or influence people. I need to work on my approach. Suggestions?

9. Instead of arguing Bush vs Kerry, argue Bush vs Badnarik
Who?

Badnarik is the Libertarian candidate. Perhaps if you cant get Bush voters to go Kerry, you can get them to vote Libertarian. As long as they don't vote Bush.

-OR-

You could play mind games with the Repukes. Take alook at the Billionaires for Bush website for an idea of what I'm talking about:

http://billionairesforbush.com/index.php

Out Repuke them, make them question their commitment to extreme policies by illustrating what it is that they really support.

Have fun! Good luck!

12. Thanks.
I'll read up on Badnarik. That might work on MIL & FIL who are in AZ.

I took a quick look at billionaires for Bush. Pretty funny.

I think I need to calm down just a bit. My husband is now warning people not to mention Bush around me, so as not to provoke an explosion. I'm a very laid back old gal, usually. Takes a lot to get me mad, but I'm there this year.

7. Don't give up on NC -- 15 electoral votes.
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 10:15 AM by HFishbine
I'm not. Latest poll has Bush up by 5%, within the margin of error and with 6% undecided -- in a state Bush won by 13% in 2000. Kerry and Edwards need a couple more visits to the urban centers before election day.

8. Write Off The Entire South Except West Virginia and Florida....
Try to "steal" Ohio, Colorodo, or Nevada....

Those are the keys to victory....

10. What about Arkansas?
Last I heard, Kerry was ahead in the state.

11. The discussion of what Kerry should do is important, but-
we have little say over what Kerry does.

What should WE do?

Should we work harder to convert opponents or to inspire our allies?

Thats my real question.
