THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
CLEVELAND — President Bush believes you help the economy and create jobs by putting more money in the pockets of rich people, while John Kerry believes you do that by strengthening and expanding the middle class. <snip>
"We should not be just rewarding wealth. That’s what George Bush and Dick Cheney are about," Edwards said during a question-and-answer session after a speech to the City Club of Cleveland. <snip>
The Democrats’ plan starts with closing tax loopholes that encourage companies to send jobs overseas and offering tax incentives to companies that hire workers in the United States, Edwards said.
Kerry and Edwards also propose additional tax breaks for the middle class and rolling back tax breaks for those making $200,000 or more to pay for health-care coverage and other programs. <snip>
