Burris Reconsidering Senate Bid?

Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL) "announced last month that he would not run to retain his Senate seat next year, but in his first television interview since making that decision, Burris told ABC News he could change his mind."

Said Burris: "What I'm still hearing is people from all over the country and they are saying, 'Don't give up that seat.'"

However being from IL I think the state can do a lot better than Burris. The guy seems really flakey.

The resume's bullet points/acheivements are based on Mr. Burris being the first African-American from Illinois to ....

Carol Mosely-Braun and Barack Obama have already been U.S. Senators from Illinois, but neither of them were elected to a second term. If Burris could run and somehow win the seat again, even though it would have been his first actual election to the post, he could definitely chisel under "First African-American in Illinois to Become" the phrase "Elected to a second term in the U.S. Senate." And there's a nice big space for it right there up top.

If people from all over the country really wanted him to run for reelection, they would have donated to his campaign. But he hasn't raised enough to run a competitive state house race in many states.
