I'm not afraid of those pathetic bed wetting losers in the least. You, on the other hand, have probably t made Freepervilles "Greatest" page. Don't feed them with your cowardice.

8. That analogy doesn't hold
For one thing, death threats against Obama have increased 400%. For another, while many on the left hated and demonized Bush, we did not want anything other than for him to be removed from power. I don't recall massive threats of violence or gun displays from anyone on the left. Plus, Bush screened his audiences quite heavily.

Sure we've got a bunch of loons but they don't wave weapons about and talk like their invincible.

Just how it is.

5. I understand the fear, but it's not that guy I fear
It's the ones who are less obvious than him. If someone were going to try something, they won't hold a sign, they'll wait for SS to watch the guy with the sign and hope for a gap in security.

I hope I am wrong, and that nothing happens.

He is making the job easier for law enforcement by putting a spotlight on himself. The issue is the ones around him who also carry but concealed, in some cases legally. They should keep you up at night.

14. You assume that the 10% of FReepers actually who could pose a threat will revolt?
Edited on Tue Aug-11-09 12:01 PM by YOY
I mean once you get rid of the stupid teenagers, the craven fundies, the geriatric FOX News watchers, and the hopelessly physically out of shape you've got what? 30% of them?

I'd say 2/3 or less of those who "could" pose a threat actually have the balls and lack of grey matter to try it.

I do hope that 10% goes apeshit. We as a country could handle it. It would spell the death knell of the Right Wing. They's be branded official terrorists and all the others would scurry to get out of the way of their inevitable destruction and damning of their "movement". There would be enough damage to actually remove the scum who whipped them into a frenzy.

Yeah...we'd have colateral damage. THe whole country would. That's the horrible part of it... I hope the decision makers that they dare to target have some keen security. They do.

If he does there is some serious conspiracy action going on and there will be blood. There will be blood and it won't be ours.

THese people do not have the cranial capacity to get past and reasonable security.

They're also trained extensively to handle all sorts of scenarios including vehicular ambushes on highways and intersections as well as kidnapping, car bombing, etc. I have a feeling that lone gunman isn't going to be much of a problem.

22. Not sure, but it is most likely illegal to carry a gun into a Town Hall...
Most public access blgs that serve the public don't allow firearms. At the least, that would keep this guy away from the president and others.

It is also a possibility to "detain" this individual by certain methods, ie, "gun license check", "background check" and a host of other things, that cops/SS can come up with...:just want to ask you a few questions, sir" type of scenario.

Remember, these people are cowards at heart, they see someone "taken away", and they fold like the cheap sheets a lot of them wear.

In every disrupted meeting, when challenged, these "people" have shut up and sat down, or left. The key is to challenge them from the audience, not the speakers platform. Dealing w/the Medicare crowd is particularly easy..."Sir/Madam, youo are currently receiving care from the government program know as MediCare, are you willing to give up such care, and replace it with 'nothing'?"...works every time...:D

25. I hear you, Hope over Fear
I turned 13 five days before JFK was shot. Three assassinations in one decade was enough for me. I'm not sure this country can survive another one.

What makes me angry is that the GOP leadership stands idly by and allows their brain-dead followers to work themselves into a frenzy. They know how crazy their base is and they hope someone will get to Obama for them. Then they can weep crocodile tears.

Notice that Randall Terry or Troy Newman didn't shoot Dr. Tiller? They had too much to lose. They left it to a loser with a miserably failed marriage, lousy husband, lousy father, no skills, owned nothing, perpetually out of work no-count. He found another way to address his frustrations, by deluding himself into thinking he was the savior of the unborn. It won't be hard to find another asshole like that with a bullet.

:scared:

27. We only see the Secret Service they want us to see.
There are probably three times more we don't see. Take time to watch the people around Obama when he's in the crowds. They surround him two deep and they watch the people in their sections. Today he had a woman SS on one side. Most people wouldn't even notice her pressed by his side in the crowd.

37. Thank you Lunatica, for a moment of reason in this hysterical hour. So few seem to
have any idea how intense the Secret Service's protective services are.

As long as the Secret Service wants the President to be alive, he'll be alive--barring a nuclear attack or some other huge-scale event. But, if they ever decide he is expendable, well there's nothing you or I can do to stop it.

29. Litany Against Fear
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

31. A wise man once said, "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself."
Some kooks are trying to browbeat the rest of their countrymen and get them scared.

The more they act like crazy kooks, the more the sane people will head the opposite direction.

There is nothing to do, when confronted with bullies, than to stand before them and confront them.

32. Stop watching the corporate media-they are making a shitload of money off of your fear.
The Secret Service has it all under control.

What pisses me off about those fucking freepers is that they are controlling the message.

They are getting a helluva lot of coverage by the corporate media whores and the only way to shut them down is to stop watching Faux, CNN and MSNBC.

I don't watch any of the corporate media whores.

We all should have boycotted them when * was illegally selected and maybe they'd be out of business by now.

33. Fear is a response to stimuli but you still control your reaction to it.
Obama is in considerably less danger than a protester on our side or even a total bystander. Clearly, there is a threat to the President but being wary and smart is about all that can be done about that.

I will also say that assassination would not be such an attractive option for them if history didn't strongly indicate that we fold like a cheap tent in the face of it. The Reich should fear an assassination more than anyone on our side because they should KNOW the backlash will be the end of them but instead the evidence moreso points to we can be broken.

The Reich wing should be made painfully aware that the next time they take out one of their leaders will result in our coming to their level and well beyond. If they were well aware that a bullet in one of ours means that we take to the rural areas and gated communities setting torch to their homes and brutal death to them and theirs then I am certain that this bullshit would be controlled by the other side far more effectively than any law.

They know that the left's general reaction to fear is flight rather than fight and they hold the threat over us always. YOU MUST STAND UP TO BULLIES AND BEAT THEM BY THEIR OWN MEASURE.

We have never given the forces of entropy an asswhipping, not even with the Civil War and until we do or somehow magically rouse them to their senses we will have to live in fear.
