To all those worried about violent GOPers and wingnuts |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-12-09 10:57 PM by Politics_Guy25
Just remember....,if they so much as even attempt something catastrophically violent, it will be the END of the rethuglican party. Seriously, total electoral decimation and media ostracization. Greta, Rush, Sean, Glen, et al, will be FINISHED and no longer on air. Fox News ratings will plunge. Their congressional and gubernatorial leadership will spend all of their time trying to explain how the "party of Lincoln" became the "party of death." The public that already hates the GOP will turn on them with the fire of 1,000 suns. Idiots that egged stuff on like Palin will be finished.
Oklahoma was the beginning of the end of Gingrich.
Seriously, I hope that they understand that any catastrophic violent acts will be their END. The only thing that would save them would be a docile media but given the makeup of the media, I do not expect that they will let them get away with it.
We're talking washed up, in ruins.

2. Every time a RWer has committed mass murder... |
|
they have managed to effectively paint him as a loner and get the press to deflect the fact he was a card-carrying Limbaugh-Beck-O'Lielly-Savage loving bot.... Hell, they have managed to largely bury the fact that Tim McVeigh was a "xian" RW terrorist.

5. I don't think you understand |
|
the rage that will sweep across the land and amongst the highest levels of the intelligentsia and general public if anything catastrophically bad happens..I don't think that in that scenario, they'd be able to paint it as some loner. All one needs to go back to is the Palin rallies from 2008 for proof of the violence that the highest levels of the GOP unleashed. The Grassley "tell more lies" rally today is another example. Rush's nazi analogies are another.
Everyone will take a very long, very extensive, very HARD look at what the GOP has become. They'll be limited to what seats they can win in the south, Utah and that's about it.

10. To those who believe in the power of prayer or symbolism |

The site "gratefulness.org" is good.
The number of people lighting candles increases at crucial times particularly this last week.
You need to go to gratefulness.org and click on light a candle and then click on search and type in Obama in group search and that will take you to his room.
We have people from all over the world who light candles for obama. You can do it anonymously if you like.
I find it very helpful to light a candle and hope that this intention for Obama's protection will help in some way. It at least makes me fill better.

4. They'll try to side-step it and come away clean |

I hope they wouldn't be able to, but I'll bet that's what will happen and the media will help.

11. May be Overstating it a Tad |
|
but I agree with your general point. The angriest conservative policitians and newscasters will be shamed, and whatever legislation Obama has in the pipeline is going to sail through.
For some reason, though, it's always temporary. They'll just keep on going as if nothing had happened and after a year or two, the same followers will start to trickle back in.

12. I think they are in a kind of suicidal psychosis. |
|
Their economic philosophy has been discredited, smashed to pieces even. Their hopes for a rapturous revolution under Bush have come to nothing, and the crimes being uncovered give the lie to their fantasy that they have been doing the holy work of God.
Now they are forced to live in a world where there is not only a black president, but one who is even-tempered, immensely competent, and so spectacularly intelligent that even the most ravingly bigoted must be forced to question their own "superiority". I can not imagine how galling that must be.
They know they are dinosaurs, and they are becoming more and more desperate to prove their relevance. They want to go out with a bang, and they don't care who they take with them. I, for one, worry about what they try next.

15. During Hurricane Katrina, I watched the passive murder of thousands of people completely spun |
|
into something the victims deserved. I think they can pretty much spin anything however they want, and kill without consequence.
How are those Katrina investigations going? All those emails Brownie referred to about FEMA trying to stick it to a female, Democratic governor? Seems like Lieberman was allowed to keep his chair and continue the coverup, and no one uttered a peep. Mass murder can be spun by the media into nothing. In fact, they'll probably just blame the victims as soon as it happens.
