I caught Dr. Gupta trying to explain the Death Panel plank of the Gop described
House Bill.

It was early this morning, a repeat of Anderson Cooper 360 (I always wanna add "Superstar" after that).

And he couldn't say that the Death Panels are not anywhere in the bill. He was using tortured logic to describe how some might be able to infer that a suggestion might have been made in the action of those tangentially responsible for the wording of said bill.

I said to myself, WCGreen, would you want this guy roaming around inside of your head with a scalpel when he can't even come down on one side or another on such an easy decision? (For those who don't know, Gupta is a neurologist.)

It was funny, the goofy guy that CNN puts on to debunk stuff had no problem calling the Death Panel myth totally that; a myth.

So how come the much ballyhooed Doctor Gupta couldn't make up his mind? Could he be eying a run as a republican senator?

1. Dr. Gupta is a doctor second and shill first.
He loves the corporate health care plan. There isn't one? Yeah, that's the one Gupta likes.

15. I think you meant Surgeon General.

But it could be very interesting having a neurologist as Atty. General. Prosecute and lobotomize for the same price!

7. I am totally perplexed by

the entire 'death panel' ballyhoo. Living wills, durable power of attorney for medical care and Advance Medical Directives are part of the deal when you check into a hospital for surgery. I've had two major operations in the last two years and both times I was given forms to fill out upon my arrival at stupid o'clock. One hospital is Catholic. I had my own paperwork (same format) so I didn't have to make any decisions when in a nervous state.

A calm consultation seems like a fine idea to me. I answered no to any and all attempts to prolong my dead carcass as soon as two doctors determined that there was nothing logical that could be done. Why hang around until my insurance and my own assets are gone. Some lucky medical students can do with me what they want. Put a straw hat on me and stick me in a cornfield for all I care.

What the hell is all the fuss about? I would hate to see this shit sink health care reform. If there's no chance for a meaningful bill, better to let it die and try again in a few years.

19. I got asked that both times I was at a hospital in the past
five years.

And I was asked several times each visit, too.

He kept trying to dance around the subject. Even some Repubs are saying that this is a lie.

14. Actually Cooper got them to admit Insurance company stand between him,
as a doctor, and his patients. At least that was easy because, hey, virtually every doctor practicing medicine and accepting insurance has gone through that same transaction.

the more doctors talked about end-of-life options, the less "aggressive" patients were about their treatment.

in others words, these death-panel doctors broke down the patients' will to fight and live.

geez.

when he tried and failed to debunk Micheal Moore's facts on "Sicko" many years ago. I don't trust anything he says.
