What would a scanning do to the font of previously typed documents? |
|
The signature would stay the same, but in printing out the document would the font be "adjusted" by the program or the printer?
This was a theory on DU about a week ago (not original to me), but I can't remember if it was discounted or not.
It is certainly the simplest explanation for the document problems. Some wanted to duplicate and leak, but used a scanner instead of a photocopier.

1. I don't know anything about scanning vs. photocopying, but |
|
I could see right away that the signatures were not the same. I don't understand why Rather couldn't see that also. But I do think the truth will come out before the election. Just wonder who provided the fakes????

3. Signatures are never identical unless they're copied or forged. |
|
The signatures were all within reasonable variation AND THE SIGNATURES WERE NOT CHALLENGED. The documents were challenged.
The only disputation of the documents of any credibility is from the secretary who said she didn't type THESE documents, she typed documents with the same content. And many more on the same subject besides.

4. Scanning would be no different from photocopying |
|
It would produce an exact image of the original document -- just a tad fuzzier.
There's also optical character recognition, where an image of a document is turned into a text file and can then be proofread and printed out. But when you do that, all you get is clean text -- no headings, no signatures, no blotches from the original document, no distinctive typewriter characteristics. So if that was the theory, it doesn't fly.

If it is scanned as an image the font would not change at all...
However it is scanned in Text mode (i.e. it takes the text from a document and places it in a text file or a word file) the font will change to what ever font you have as your default font. It would also possibly change alignment of of centered text and right aligned text. It all depends on the scanner and what application one is using.
