Calling someone that turns a debate into a brawl. You can make the point by saying someone's being extremely disingenuous. Part of the value of Hardball is Matthews' ability to get major Republicans to appear, and work them over hard, but with friendliness and good humor. Although I like O'Donnell's more leftish politics better, he's cold and humorless and not the best choice to host a political variety show where you want to be able to attract politicians on the other side.

All I am saying is that if you're going to call Republicans "liars" to their face, rather than make the same point by saying "extremely disingenuous," "not on the level," etc., then you're not going to be able to have a good political variety/debate show, because not many people on the other side will appear, certainly not major politicians. I love Keith Olbermann for instance, but there's a reason scarcely any Republicans go on his show. Or even on Rachel Maddow's. There's a place for Tweety, too.
