is exactly why he is the best thing to happen to this country. He countered the health reform hysteria with intelligence and calm. He always kicks it up a notch and expects the same from others. He is the grown up we desperately need right now.

3. I like Obama but I strongly disagree that bribing the insurance industry to do the right thing is |
|
good for the country. It isn't. It's very bad policy.
It's crony capitalism.
He needs to rethink that part of his plan.

Esp. about the only grownup...
Here's a couple improvements I think I could make on his message:
His strong vilification of insurance cos.: I think he should tweak his message in that regard to say, hey, no wonder they do what they do - it's a for profit system; that's the problem. You can't blame a company for trying to make profits, when that's the context. I think it would play better, be less strident.
I think he could do a better job hitting home that the current system IS costing us inordinately. That his proposals, while some are alleging are expensive, are in truth more fiscally conservative than what will happen if there is no reform. I know he states this, but I think it could be one of the top 5 talking points, that is: we actually can't afford to do nothing, more than we can't afford reform.
