1. MoveOn cautions we all need to make SURE we are registered.

They suggest printing out a registration form, filling it out, mailing it in, even if you think you are registered.

I think an alternative would be a phone call to double check your status but what do I know? The only time I ever had a problem was when we moved from one state to another about two months before the McGovern-Nixon vote. We registered right after the move but on election day, we were turned away at the precinct and had to go downtown to get a ballot because we were allowed to vote in the presidential race only, being new residents of that state. I'm sure that sort of glitch would have prevented some people from voting altogether. Don't know why we weren't told at the time we registered what the procedure would be.

2. That's why I'm glad he have early voting

If there's a problem at the poll, I have plenty of time to get it corrected.
