Freepers react in two different ways to Dems' plan to go it alone on health care |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-19-09 06:10 AM by Becky72
They are split in two groups:
1-) Those who fake outrage saying "one party rule? Are dems nuts?! Whatever happened to bipartisanship! This group ignores that Republians went it alone to pass the Bush tax cuts.
2-) Those who say "own it!," the message being that public option is bad, therefore going it alone is bad for Democrats because they will "own" this bill. How lame.
Drudge's heatline right now says "own it!."

1. There is no plan to "go it alone." Did you hear Obama say that? Or Sebelius? |
|
Or Gibbs? Or a leading Dem. Senator on the committee drafting the bill in the Senate?
No.
There is no such plan.

2. Owning the public option is great. Owning the bi-partisan mess is bad. |
|
Owning OUR bill won't be a problem.

3. The media framing is also bad. |
|
It is not going it alone, it is going with what people in society want to help with health care costs and expand health care services.
Notice the bias, alone to them means going against the status quo. There is also alot of people in the status quo that know the time is right to move into a better health care environment then what the status quo has done. The current health system had decades to get it right, they didn't, so it is time to make the changes.

5. I love the "Own It" meme.... just like Social Security... just like Medicare.... |
|
...just like Clinton's omnibus bill in 1993...
All... unqualified successes.... All... with zero or near-zero Republican support.
