Hatch: using reconciliation to pass health care reform "would be an abuse of the process"
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), also appearing on “Meet the Press,” said that it “would be an abuse of the process” if the Democrats resort to using reconciliation in order to pass health care reform. Hatch argued that Democrats have decided they want the public insurance option at all costs, which means “they’re going to go to reconciliation.” He said that would set a dangerous precedent for using the process to pass legislation to solve other problems.

1. If reconcilation is an abuse of the process, what is the filibuster?
filibuster

a. the use of irregular or obstructive tactics by a member of a legislative assembly to prevent the adoption of a measure generally favored or to force a decision against the will of the majority.

2. Nice try, Hatch. Once this is done through reconciliation, the people will see how
much Obama was committed to improving the lives of sooo many people by any means necessary and those who tried to stop him will be seen as obstructionists. History proves the Repubs. have done the same thing.

7. Don't you just love how shameless the Republicans are? I love them all!
Now, let's do what a Bolshevik government would have done and put the entire GOP treasonous rabble in Guantanamo, where they belong!

You can't appease these people!

8. So?
If it gets 47 million more people health care, then I am all for the most shameless abuse of the process possible.

Hatch may not grasp that those uninsured people really couldn't give a rat's ass about th traditions of the Senate and obscure parliamentary procedures.

9. I heard him also slip in that he considers a co-op a govt. plan, too, which means he'd
even be against THAT! So the Dems. have every opening to do this through reconciliation. The Repubs. are saying no to EVERYTHING.
