freeps want "someone" to go to jail over forgery
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1221384/posts

That's precious.

To borrow a phrase that Keith Olbermann recently used, these people are "sticking their heads in the sewer trying to find pennies while ignoring 50 dollar bills on the sidewalk."

Isn't the REAL story WHO leaked the forgeries and do they in fact represent the truth?

An earlier DU-er said "it's the content, stupid."

How very true.

But sadly, the public flogging of Rather will take all attention off of Rove, the evil wizard geek-master.

4. When Scooter Libby does the perp walk for the Plame outing
along with Ted Olsen burning for lying to Congress about the Arkansas Project plus many more, I might start to think about this. Even then, the answer would be a big LOL.

6. An what crime has been committed?
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 11:58 AM by atre
Procedural Due Process embodied in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution prohibits incarceration of persons who have committed an act that was at that time of the commission of the act not described as a "crime" in a statute.

Boosh is always free to pursue civil remedies, but the criminal process does not exist to exact retribution on persons who offend the occupant of the White House.

would be something like "forgery of officail US Government documents". There's bound to be something like that in the criminal code.

15. Seems that the docs which were faked...
...came from a PERSONAL file of Killian. IMO, the memos would not be official government documents.

7. But Cheney can have secret energy meetings without disclosing who

attended? THAT'S okay, but this isn't?

Bush can lie to the public about why we went to war...no problem. But CBS gets set-up with questionable memoes, from a questionable source, and all of a sudden, the media is the devil?

I'm sorry, freepers, but it looks like your priorities are out of order and you're adhering to double standards. But you already knew that....

8. The Real Story
...Is that there has been an avalanche of additional documents released over the last month that PROVE that Bush skipped out of his Guard duty. See the Boston Globe, NYTimes, USA Today and more for a run of stories this month about documents who's authenticity has not been questioned.

That's the REAL story. The CBS story has become more of a distraction.

11. He must have been listening to Rush
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 12:10 PM by Roland99
Rush was ranting and raving that Rather wasn't outragred by being misled. Like Rush was outraged at being misled by the rowboat liars? Pffft...what a fvcking hypocrite.

Oh, and then Rush's racism reared its ugly head.

Rush said Kerry was speaking recently to the Black Caucus and was told in no uncertain terms they don't care about Iraq...they want to hear Kerry's ideas on domestic policy, which, as Rush stated, means "what are you going to give away?"

What is Rush trying to imply about the blacks in America??

Oh...Rush also used the word "strategery" and I don't think he did it on purpose! :)

12. Unfortunately, if the
documents are forgeries, their content doesn't matter.

Also, I've seen a lot of comment that Rove was behind it. Let's hope it's true, and can be proven. But I haven't yet seen anything I consider solid evidence. Just because he's smart enough to do it, and evil enough to do it, is not evidence that he did it.

Somebody help me here

16. OH do THEY? How bout this then...
From their own stupid mouths-

>>To: Redcoat LI

Like I've said before it doesn't matter if Karl Rove wrote the memos.

Dan Rather is the person who decided to use them against President Bush.
