Pres. Obama has declared 9/11 a National Day of Service!!!
Plan what you are going to do.

Volunteer at a school. Visit vets at the VA. Organize a clean-up a a public park.

Be active and be a part of the change.

5. We have to make sure that there is a giant participation.
Lead by example and cause the social momentum we need to carry out the change we are banking on.

We should not count on Obama to carry all of the weight himself.

7. It will serve to demonstrate a difference between progressives...
,,, and right wingers. They are a snarling mob, screaming at neighborhood meetings. We are smiling folks trying to help neighbors.

The tragedy of Sept 11 brought the country together. We can determine what direction we proceed.

8. The tragedy "brought the country together" until bush+cheney
started playing politics and bombed Iraq for starters.

The Obama admin is always looking for ways to make something good out of a pile of bush-cheney crap.

And, this will definetly be an excellent time for a call to National Service.

13. I think it is a beautiful gesture on President Obama's part
I can't think of a better way to turn a tragedy like that into something postive. I hope President & Mrs Obama come here to NY that day, bush and cheney were never welcomed here on that day, and it would be really be nice to see someone who would inspire us and honor those lost with such a postive message, instead of the "fear" mantra we had to endure for the past 8 years.
