The suppression of HR 676 has served the Democratic Party as much as the Republicans, because they haven't been forced to go on the record and declare their opposition to the people's welfare. At least the Weiner amendment will put the jokers wearing the Democratic mask under the spotlight and defuse a bit of the illusions surrounding the political system.
