Kerry/Edwards "Convention" in Orlando Report....
this past Saturday, 9/18, my husband and I attended a K/E Campaign "Convention" here in Orlando (their words not mine). It was fabulous!!! It was held at the Sorosis House (A local women's club) and there were about 500 people there. It started off with the pledge of alliegence and a woman sang some patriotic songs. Then theyhad reports about what was going on with the campaign, a barbershop quartet sang a song about John Kerry that they wrote, a nice lunch that volunteers made, and then we split off into breakout sessions for different parts of Orange COunty and Central Florida. It was wonderful. Kerry and Edwards are going to be in Orlando tomorrow.

1. Why do I not get told of these things!?!?
I belong to about 2 dozen mailing lists, yet I never find out about these things until after they happen...Sharpton was in Orlando a month ago and I found out right after the event was done...grrr!

3. Kerry Information.....
The local (Orange County) Democratic Executive Committee is the world's worst about communicating anything to the rank and file. Here is information on the local Kerry campaign:

Telephone: (407) 839-5851
Coordiantor: Tony Simon - asimon@fladems.com
The HQ is on Mills in the old Schwinn Shop just down from Colonial (large glass enclosed building - look for the Kerry Signs)

Information on Kerry-Edwards rally:
Tuesday, September 21st
TD Waterhouse Center Arena - 600 West Amelia Street - doors open at 6PM,
no tickets needed open and free to the public but limit items, please no signs, umbrellas, backpacks!

We are going to start flashing at cars beginning on Saturday, October 2nd in the am before it gets too hot, along SR 436 between the 408 and Curry Ford - a lot of traffic and easy to get to on and off. If you are interested, let me know: my home phone is (407) 482-8815 and my personal email is deborahryan2003@yahoo.com.

Good luck!

2. These are being held all over the country
I'm glad you went! Thanks for the report.

We had two in Maine yesterday. 500 people were expected. At the Portland session there were about 250 people in attendance. They left with enthusiasm and a game plan.

We only have 43 days to make this happen! Thanks for taking part and now we have to get to work.
