I have a better idea for a town hall presidential debate |
|
Don't stack the audience with vacillating, moronic undecided voters. Anybody who is undecided at this point is either not worth paying attention to, or they will never make up their mind and not vote at all. Instead, put only partisan supporters of each candidate in the audience. Have Gallup identify strong supporters of each candidate and invite them to attend the debate where they can question the candidate they oppose. The candidates would not know who was chosen to attend, nor would they know what questions would be asked. That will ensure that the tough questions really get asked of the candidates. I am fairly confident that John Kerry could handle hardball questions from Republican partisans. On the other hand, such a format could cause Baby Bush to wet his pants.

3. There'd probably be too many "Why do you beat your wife" |
|
types of questions....
You don't want it to be too adversarial. It gets ridiculous.
