I want to thank the paranoid, hate-filled, fearful right-wingers. |
|
Through their blind hate and paranoia, they have highly publicized President Obama's speech to the school kids. When the transcript is released, parents and other adults will grab it and read it. Many of these people wouldn't have even realized a speech was going to take place. They will see it is sensible and good advice. They will hear stories of children who feel invested in this presidency. And, because of the rights perpetual foaming at the mouth, more of the older school children will be eager to hear what has caused so much fuss.
The children whose parents censor the message, will get the gist of it through second hand accounts and will wonder what their parents are so afraid of. Like FDR said so long ago, I welcome their hate.

though it won't be as visible to us as I'd like. I know that's what will occur in some corners.
Thanks to the MSM aiding and abetting the hatemongers and paranoiacs, a lot of people know that they've got their panties in a bunch over the President. And since this society is primed for trainwrecks, a lot of people will be curious to know what it's about.
And it'll be a whole lotta nothin'. Joke will eventually be on them.

...this isn't FDR's world. This isn't the Great Depression. It isn't even close.
This isn't the United States of northern California and Massachusetts!

...that Obama will, no matter what happens in 2010, have to govern more from the middle or what happened to Van Jones will inevitably happen to most of his appointees. Eventually, it will happen to Obama himself. Paterson was talking about this several weeks ago.
We govern between the forty yard lines. This is how it works and it's not gonna change.
We can disagree if you want but I've been around this game for a few decades and I'm telling ya...I know how it works.
This is not Europe. Trust me.

...and that's my next point. If you want to live in a place in which government controls a large portion of people's everyday lives and has confiscatory taxation to pay for it, move there. No one's stopping you.

22. But, see, I have actually lived in Europe. I lived in both France and Spain. The government did |
|
NOT control a large portion of people's everyday lives.
All taxation is, by definition, confiscatory. Its sounds intellectual and scary to your friends, but "confiscatory taxation" is just another way of saying taxation.
By the way, many people would love to move to Europe, but someone actually is stopping them. Europeans. Immigration to Europe is very difficult.

18. Did Reagan or Bush "govern between the forty yard lines"? |
|
No... your heroes governed at the right-end of the field.
... and it has led this country to the brink of financial ruin.
THAT'S the America that people that think like you created.

way to make sure a kid does something is tell him he can't do it. To wit: we had a creek running near our property. My mom told us over and over again to not go there. Guess where we spent ALL of our time as kids? The creek.
