Just got home from the John Edwards rally in John's town, PA.

Great crowd, filled the War Memorial arena est. 5600 full house. Big union turnout, esp. United Mine Workers and various laborer's unions. Big veterans crowd. The Bush* people outside (about 10-12) were pretty subdued, but the local Fox affiliate seemed to cover them exclusively. The guy with camera spent all his time with them and about 6 of them were interviewed. Channel 6 (NBC affiliate) was inside and on the Democrats' crowd side of the street. Channel 10 (Altoona-State College) was there, they are the republican station in central PA. Barbara Hafer ex republican & state treasurer (I like her to run against Santorum next time around), Bill George, a passionate union man and superb speaker, Rep. John Murtha (usually a war hawk really blasted Bush* on the Iraq war), and Franco Harris former Steeler and Penn State star led off the program.

I love Johnstown, it's where my family is originally from on my mom's side. Great to see the United Miners of America are still doing great things, Murtha though more moderate and hawkish than your average dem is a good guy, glad you went, I love Johnstown and I only wish that my late godmother and aunt could have been there and her brother too because I am nearly certain they would have gone. Sigh too bad. Thanks for the report though.

While at the same time, I see snippets and quotes from his appearances?

The media ho's are trying to make a new soundbyte out of how Edwards is "missing," yet he's out there, isn't he? What's going on?

I heard him speak in Beckley, WV,...and not one of the hole-in-one pieces of his speech was publicized on mass media,...which, as usual, pissed me off.

These two, Kerry and Edwards, are seriously delivering both "truth" and "hope",...but they are going to have to rely upon grassroots,...'cause the media is MISSING the best soundbites (wonder why).

It's up to us, "the people",...to deliver both reality and hope.

We can do this!!! What other options do we have?

i always loved watching him with the steelers

and it sounds great. about 2 hours ago i watched edwards portsmouth ohio rally on cspan. the speech didnt last too long but the crowd enjoyed it

he said some real good things incl "you think this administration with their history in the oil business will get us energy independence? its never going to happen"

10. I wish we had a running total

of attendance at Kerry and/or Edwards rallies and attendance at the occupants of the WH rallies. My impression is that Kerry/Edwards are outscoring the unelected frauds, but it would be good to KNOW. I know it isn't scientific, but I was totally astonished when I read the reports of #s at Kerry rally in Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. It is at least a good omen, and encouraaging.

It's an important observation- the press is covering sparse Bush crowds at rallies, rather than the issues discussed by the dem candidates.
