Illegal immigrants qualify for nothing - though they can pay taxes - that is a constant right wing meme of every program.

For the record, a lot of those union people loved Bill Clinton and voted for Hillary.
Besides, Obama could renegotiate or abrogate NAFTA--he hasn't.

apart from those with employer coverage. We really need to listen and read instead of going with pre-conceived notions.
"Now, if you’re one of the tens of millions of Americans who don’t currently have health insurance, the second part of this plan will finally offer you quality, affordable choices. If you lose your job or change your job, you will be able to get coverage. If you strike out on your own and start a small business, you will be able to get coverage. We will do this by creating a new insurance exchange – a marketplace where individuals and small businesses will be able to shop for health insurance at competitive prices.
snip
For those individuals and small businesses who still cannot afford the lower-priced insurance available in the exchange, we will provide tax credits, the size of which will be based on your need. And all insurance companies that want access to this new marketplace will have to abide by the consumer protections I already mentioned. This exchange will take effect in four years, which will give us time to do it right. In the meantime, for those Americans who can’t get insurance today because they have pre-existing medical conditions, we will immediately offer low-cost coverage that will protect you against financial ruin if you become seriously ill.
snip
But an additional step we can take to keep insurance companies honest is by making a not-for-profit public option available in the insurance exchange.

I am just a old lady who doesn't think I'll ever see a president whom I admire more in my lifetime.
I might not agree with him on every point, but he is a fighter. Who isn't afraid of speaking his mind and taking on the tough stuff, from those within and those outside his party. There isn't anything worthwhile in life for which you don't have to fight.

|
So the public option is only available to people who have NO insurance?
What about those of us who are being CRUSHED under our current premiums .. where is the price relief? What option are we left with? If the P.O. has the same or better coverage why cant I dump Blue Crosses azz and have the P.O.?

It will get insurance to those who don't have it and make it cheaper for those of us who do. No spending caps, lower out of pocket expenses, etc.

It was a good speech. He called out lies and was more specific about what he wants. Nice, passionate delivery. That said, I have some concerns -
1) The left is not like the right on the spectrum. The left has actually been right. 2) I still don't think he realizes the urgency of the public option 3) Could have been more specific on costs
I didn't come away feeling better about the public option.
