CNN analyst: Big expatriate vote for Kerry? Blair turning from Bush?
Bill Schneider on CNN is saying the Blair government is prviately saying that they are going to have to distance themselves from the Bush Administration before they're up for re-election (as early as the spring) because people are getting so pissed off with America and its policies.

A large Americans-living-abroad vote for Kerry can be expected in places like Britain, Schneider says, because Americans working there see American issues through the eyes of their colleages and friends IN Britain -- who DON'T LIKE BUSH.

Keep your fingers crossed!

1. Oh I think Schneider is absolutely right about that.
He irritates the shit out of me MOST of the time, but I think he's right-on with this one.

2. Hmmmm
Did Schneider mention that the House of Commons is probably going to vote to impeach Blair as soon as it reconvenes?

3. Well, we'll have to see if they are able to actually vote.
Just like in 2000, when the citizens living in Israel had trouble casting their absentee votes in Florida. The jewish vote was going to Gore/Lieberman, if you'll recall.

It's scary what this corrupt government can and will do.

4. Canada has 600,000 Americans here and Diane Kerry, John's sister...
has been traveling across the country encouraging registration and voting for Kerry. In my small area alone 200 US citizens were registered as democrats voting for Kerry. They, too, are not being counted in the faux polls being touted.

5. WOW that truly is encouraging news
Kerry is out front on this one I think. Good for Diane Kerry. I envy her getting to travel around Canada. I would love to see more of Canada just can't afford to at the present time.

8. Oh, I think it's too late for Blair
to save his ass. He stood with the Fuhrer in the march to war. I don't think distancing himself from the Fuhrer, at this point, is going to change ANYONE's mind. I know had the tables been turned, Blair wanted to invade and the Fuhrer stood with HIM..."I" would not be so forgiving. Blair made his bed and me thinks the Brits won't forget...he will lie in that bed. Brits, If I'm wrong...please correct me. I'm remembering the massive protests against the war. :hi:

9. Read between the lines: overseas voters not lied to be US media. Choice...
...is better informed. Will vote Kerry.

It's not that they see the world through they eyes of their colleagues.

It's that they don't percieve the world through the filter of CNN, FOX, and NPR.

12. Does anyone know how many ex-pats there are worldwide?
My ex-pat brother-in-law is voting for Kerry. He hasn't voted in a U.S. election in ages. Better yet, his kids (my niece and nephew) who have dual citizenship are also voting for Kerry. They are both first time voters.

Who knows how many latent ex-pat votes out there will be exercised in this election. It could make a difference.
