Franken has been more laid back than I hoped, maybe just getting his feet wet! |
|
I was expecting Franken to be more vocal about support for health care.
I guess he might be learning the ropes.
I look forward to the guy I heard on Air America come out again!

1. I'm glad he is keeping it to the grindstone. |
|
He'll have plenty of time to bring the funny later.

2. I expect the "Air America guy" is still in there. |
|
And he will drop the occasional bon mot as the situations require.

4. He is co-authoring an amendment with Rockefeller |
|
to regulate government subsidies to insurance companies, they must spend 90% of it on healthcare expenses. Rockefeller just talked about it on Countdown.

7. Would it make you fell better if he was on his way to Copenhagen? |
|
A little bit of politicing and arm twisting for the public option wouldn't be bad though.

8. Franken supports the public option |
|
Maybe the media has been ignoring him. BUT at this year's MN State Fair (which is attended by half the state) he ran surveys about HC and when he spoke to the MN Public Radio crowd, he explained what Senate Dems were trying to do about reform and how the Public Option would work. He's very supportive of insurance reform but you just haven't been hearing about it.
He's working on other things too, like promoting a bill to extend the recently passed House bill granting an additional 13 weeks of unemployment benefits to ALL states, not just those that meet the 8.5% unemployment threshhold.
Franken hit the grown running. He's done a lot considering he's only been a Senator for what, three months now?
