1. Senate Democrats, yes. Congressional Democrats? No. |
|
However, that could be solely attributed to numbers. We have a real majority in the House and it shows. In the Senate? Not so much. If we had a TRUE Democratic majority in the Senate, god, that would ROCK!

2. On the whole, yes. There are fairly large sub-groups that aren't spineless, however. |

3. Not me- b/c they are not spineless at all when it comes to standing up to their own base. |

In that respect, maybe he have been unfair to them- perhaps they really are quite brave.
Maybe they dont fail to oppose Republicans b/c they are "spineless"- maybe they fail to oppose Republicans & corporations b/c they AGREE with them.
I'm starting to see that it has more to do with core values than "spine" per se.

7. You mean they believe one thing |
|
but don't have the spine to stand up for it. No,that's not the case. They're shills for the insurance industry and actually have the spine to stand up for their patrons.

10. The idea that they're working for us |
|
but just don't have the courage to stand up for us is delusional. They're working hand in glove with the people who sponsor them, but they have to appear to be working for us. That's the reason for the public posturing. "Oh I'm really for the public option, but it's just one of many choices, I'm open to new ideas." blah blah blah

8. I think many are doing what they are paid to do by their donors who put them in office |
|
and I do not mean their constituents in terms of working Americans in their districts or state

11. don't think you can lump them all into one categorgy |
|
I applaud some of them for fighting for us. One good thing this whole health care debate has brought a lot of things to the surface and made people more aware of how things work in washington. Maybe one day that could lead to real change.
