I've coined a new word "leftbeckian" |
|
It came to me while reading another post which suggested what Obama was really saying was that Afghanistan will be bigger than Vietnam. This is exactly the kind of nonsense that would come out of Glen Beck's mouth if he were a leftist. It occurred to me that a good way to describe the paranoid, conspiratorial and/or flat-out dishonest statements from our side of the political spectrum was to to tie them to the Faux crybaby. So whenever I hear someone in the future allege that Obama's efforts on healthcare are either worthless or merely a ruse to help the insurance companies, I will consider the statement to be a prime example of a leftbeckian comment. Same for those theories that Obama is the tool of monied interest on Wall Street - pure leftbeckianisms.

1. Sounds good to me. I'll steal your comment and start using it myself. |

These people need to be treated for what they are.

2. It's one thing to be disappointed in things Obama has done. It's another to make stuff up |
|
so I agree there is a Glenn Beck left. I was discussing the bailout with a DUer a few days ago, and this person seemed to believe the bailouts were enacted after Obama was inaugurated and there was little factual material I could present to change this person's mind. That's leftbeckian, imo.
