Hatriots

The RW is heavily comprised of hatriots. They love America when we are bombing, bullying and boasting. But they take joy in a great American city losing an Olympic bid. They react with totally disproportionate outrage when our President, and by extension our country, is honored as a force for peace. They love an America that lives in their idealized and many cases bigoted imagination. The flag that they are so willing to wrap themselves in has 48 stars or less. Ever since the 50's, the world has been encroaching on their white bread existence and their piece of turf has eroded every day.
They love America alright but it is the America of Mad Men and now they take comfort from the maddest of men, Beck and Limbaugh and the dumbest, Hannity. These "great Americans" spew their hatred of what America is becoming.And they find a seething, malleable audience among those who cannot accept a pluralistic, tolerant egalitarian America.The only thing these small minded men have to offer is the libel our our leaders and the ridicule of their message.They do this with the full support of their handmaidens in the GOP and their stenographers in the media.
The world gave us a message today. America, you can be a pathfinder.Please live up to your ideals. Don't listen to the hatriot brigades that threaten the peace and prosperity of the globe.

5. It came to my mind today while listening to the outpouring

of bile from RWers. The juxtaposition of all that hate with all that proclaimed patriotism got me to thinking of the word. Trying to rationalize the extreme reactions led me to the rest of the theory.

My old Latin teacher would be appalled that I couldn't figure it out from the root words. Appalled yes; surprised, probably not.

16. The RW reaction to Katrina revealed their lack of humanity.

Their reaction to the Olympics vote and the Nobel Prize award reveals their lack of grace. What a miserable bunch of haters they are. Thanks for the post and welcome to DU.
