I think Obama really missed out in taming the i-banks when he had the opportunity of a century.
GOLDEN GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY - WASTED !!!
He should have listened to Krugman and gone ahead with Nationalizing these bastard banks.
They add little value - they are not efficient distributors of capital as they like to think of themselves .. and their 'INNOVATION' is nothing but fooling people into thinking that they have taken on less risk than they actually have ...
Banks are back in game - creating/selling the exact same CDO's that caused an International Heart Attack last year. To make things worse - the sensible proposal Obama suggested (Exchange for derivatives ) is being severely watered down in congress.
Obama should not have trusted these snakes -- He should have done the following in this sequence:
1) Nationalize 2) Reform Regulation without interference. 3) Privatize
