Harry Reid on the Trigger: "a pretty doggone good idea" |
|
Harry Reid likes the Trigger: "a pretty doggone good idea" From today's (Thursday's) New York Times: Now Mr. Reid must merge the two Senate bills. He has said he
likes Ms. Snowe’s trigger proposal — “a pretty doggone good idea,”
he called it in a recent conference call with Nevada voters.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/15/health/policy/15public.html?hp

off topic, or maybe not, but I'm sitting here watching C-SPAN and Sen. Bennett from Utah is lying his ass off saying no one in the Senate supports a Public Option and whining that his side isn't allowed to be involved in the process.
Sadly though, there are way to many folks who only get their information on shows like this so they'll be buying his spew hook, line and sinker.

that. I just get tired of hosts of shows allowing the lies to stand. There are plenty of Senators who support the Public Option and Bennett damn well knows it.

Got to talk to one of his staffers after a brief wait as the phone lines were full. Told her the public option is the only way to go, forget about the "trigger" and Snowe is only one vote and not worth all the pandering to get the vote.

Maybe it is time they all go. Let them screw this Health Care Up and they are gone. The people did not put the Dems in charge only to have the Dems develop a Republican Bill.
The Message is We Democrats believe the Republicans are correct even on Health Care.

...and a Congress that made sure it would never be pulled.
I am unconvinced that ceding the field to private insurers for the nine thousand, three hundred twenty-fifth time is going to accomplish anything. How many last chances are they supposed to get before facing competition?

Snowe! We would just all be floundering in the wilderness w/o her insight and wisdom. Why hasn't this woman run for president. We are all suffering w/o her stellar leadership abilities. In fact, I think Reid should just hand her his position, she IS that impressive after all.
Reid is a monumental embarrassment.

31. For Me It's "Doggone" Time For Obama To Take Him Aside And Have |
|
a stern, pointed talk with him. Yes, I know he's the Speaker, but if Obama really wants a Public Option, he's needs to let him know that he WON'T sign a bill without the PO! If PO is the best that can be done.
Personally, I think the way the whole bill is going, it should be scrapped and started all over again! But what do I know, I'm just one of "we the people" who think REAL HEALTH CARE REFORM isn't what we're seeing right now.
Of course, there will be comments about "how it's not a done deal" but it seems to be getting WORSE rather than better as time goes by.

Why exactly do we need to give the insurance industry MORE time to "clean up their act" and make things better for everybody? They had 16 years since somebody tried to reform the system to clean up their act and things have only gotten worse in just about every way imaginable. Besides, it's going to take some time for any reforms done this year to kick in and the insurance industry is point-blank threatening us with increased premiums if reform passes. There's no possible justification IMHO for waiting for a set of (worse) circumstances to "trigger" a public option. I personally believe that government should just open Medicare up to anybody that wants it as a "public option" and let the insurance companies really compete for our business. Is that really too hard to do?
