I am unconvinced that A GOP fillibuster fo the Final HCR bill would be such a bad thing/ |
|
Particularly if it does not include a Strong Public Option.
If 65% of the electorate favors substantive Healthcare Reform and the GOP is seen as completely lockstep, reflexively opposed, it can only serve to bolster us in 2010 so long as we control the MSM Spin. I want them angry. Belligerent. Ugly as can be. I want Limbaugh on the record saying that any Republican not standing against cloture is committing the unpardonable act of cooperation. And I want to run those tapes again and again and again. If it is a substandard bill, we need to start drawing Hitler Moustaches on Limbaugh
I am not so sure any DEM would ever vote against cloture because of the political price to be paid even if they hate the bill. So it may be academic. Still if it is a bad bill or there is no public option I would almost rather let them filibuster and look obstinate and uncaring and use that to our political advantage

1. I agree. At this point I am telling my Senators and House Rep. to vote AGAINST HCR. |
|
What we're currently being offered is not worth the damage it will do the the country and the Democratic Party.
But, personally, I think enough Republicans will vote FOR the final bill to insure its passage. Their masters in the Health Insurance Industry really want that individual mandate.
