It was basically saying that Obama was like Hitler and Stalin.

3. Um, for one this is public information they are analyzing, for 2, the problem was NEVER Bush spying. |
|
...it was the Bush administration spying while attempting to bypass FISA. But go ahead with your bad self and your revisionist history and blowing stuff out of proportion and all that. You seem to enjoy it.

12. I always find it odd that people have an expectation for privacy on the internet |

Example 1: Obama's speechwriter Example 2-900: Republicans that have been caught with racist emails, images, comments, etc.

11. How is statistical analysis of public information "spying on you?" |
|
If you post things on the internet, anyone can read them. That's kind of the point.

If the CIA's got a crawler bot analyzing keywords on the average blog, they've most likely doubled that blog's audience.

Anyone...ANYONE can read your posts at any time. Google yourself and see. This isn't personal emails, this is blog posts and Twitter.
On Edit: And yes, under Bush, I had no expectation of privacy for things posted on internet forums either.

It's about the CIA making automated dossiers rating how "positive" your posts are.
That's not at all creepy, is it?

Again, you can google me and find out how positive I am and what I believe in anyway.
On Edit: Also, they are monitoring keystrokes, not "profiling bloggers"

20. There's a difference between statistical analysis of keyword frequency and "profiling bloggers." |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 12:22 PM by Occam Bandage
They're not doing anything but looking at what topics people are discussing, and how information flows. Guess what? Most major corporations are beginning to do the exact same thing. The blogosphere is the biggest new marketing resource in history.
